New research is out showing the importance and amazingly widespread negative impacts of sleep disruption.

Yes, we know sleep is important but in recent years the sheer importance has increased and this has led the American Academy of Sleep Medicine to make a position statement declaring that sleep is important to health. This most likely because health has normally focused more on nutrition and exercise and sleep generally falling a distant third, if at all mentioned.

I reported in my quick hit yesterday on the dramatic negative impacts of being out of tune with your body clock. Some other insightful, innovative, and very impressive research has also given us more clues as to the surprising (shocking) fundamental health impacts of sleep or lack thereof.
