I Wrote an Article a Day on Medium for 70 Days-Here’s What I Learnt
You know how it is. You read some advice, and you think, that’s it, that’s for me. So it was with me. It was a Tim Denning article. It went some thing like: write a post a day, be consistent, and be short. At first I thought that sounded like good advice but I couldn’t think of how to apply it to what I do. Then I had that proverbial flash of insight — only a small one, mind you, I don’t want to exaggerate.
I write regularly on slightly more cognitive, academic, topics around the brain and behaviour. And everybody does seem to be interested in the brain and behaviour, it is fascinating after all. I also launched an e-magazine on all things the brain, learning, business, and behaviour at the start of 2021 but that is more in-depth writing — it takes time, and background research. So what was my little flash of insight?
Well my flash of insight is this. There is loads of research coming out, by the day, in the cognitive and behavioural sciences. And some of this is really interesting stuff. Even though many people would be very, very interested in this, firstly, they don’t have the ability or access to find this. Secondly, this research is sometimes too dense to be quickly processed. Thirdly, it is also too long and would take up far too much time in a busy person’s day.
